Ben + Katherine | White Rock Mountain Proposal

I just want to preface this post by saying that I have a new found love for shooting surprise proposals! Not gonna lie, the anticipation leading up to the actual moment had me sweating bullets, but I am such a firm believer in capturing real, authentic moments such as these.

The lengths that Ben went to in order to make this moment absolutely perfect and memorable were super impressive. Ben first contacted me a couple of months prior to setting the actual proposal date. He already knew that he would be taking Katherine on a week long excursion at White Rock Mountain in Northwest Arkansas and decided that it would be the perfect time to pop the question.

Ben and I planned the whole thing out right down to the nonchalant stop at the rocks where I pretended to take photos of the mountains in the background. After they spent the day hiking in the mountains, Ben and Katherine came walking up the trail at sunset to stop and take in the view. They were sitting on the rocks when I heard my cue and saw Ben get down on one knee out of the corner of my eye.

Spoiler alert: Katherine said yes! After they took a few moments to soak in the coolest news ever, Ben introduced me and Katherine so she didn’t just think I was a random person with a camera. Ha! Then, we took the last little bit of sunset to show off Katherine’s new ring and snap some couple’s photos.

I was so honored to be trusted to capture such an important time for these two! Every single detail was perfect. The weather cooperated, the view was out of this world, and these two now have tangible memories to hold on to for the rest of their lives together! If you’ve been thinking of having your proposal photographed, DO IT. I promise that your significant other won’t be mad and they will appreciate getting to look back on one of the happiest moments of their life.
